Kammerkoor Kolm Lindu

Kammerkoor Kolm Lindu was founded in Tartu in 2017. The previous season was unusually intense for the choir. The autumn began with the completion of the installation “Karvennustus” at the University of Tartu Natural History Museum (artist Damien Beyrouthy, curator Sara Bedard-Goulet, composer Age Veeroos) and Shakespeare concerts with conductor Laura Štoma and the chamber women’s choir Sireen. In March, the choir performed together with Vox Clamantis in concerts dedicated to Arvo Pärt under the direction of Jaan-Eik Tulve.

In the spring semester, activities included a concert tour with the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra (Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, conductor Risto Joost), Eller Music School exam concerts, the Song Festival, a joint concert with the Canadian women’s choir Espressa, and a performance with nublu at the opening of Rally Estonia.

The major events of the current season include the project dedicated to Veljo Tormis “Veljo Tormis 95 | 110 Helletust”, Christmas concerts, a tour in Ida-Viru County, and performances of Brahms’ Requiem. The choir is conducted by Kärolin Tuisk, and the Ida-Viru concerts are conducted by Küllike Joosing.

Narva Youth Choir Vaimustus

Narva Youth Choir Vaimustus was founded in November 2014 by students and alumni of the Narva Choral School and Sillamäe Music School, united by a love of choral singing. Each year, the choir renews its membership, with young singers joining enthusiastically. The choir has received numerous awards at international competitions in Austria, Italy, Poland, and Russia and regularly participates in city and national events as well as song festivals. Artistic director and conductor: Svetlana Gorjušina; accompanist: Pavel Zubov.

Narva Boys’ Choir

The Narva Boys’ Choir was founded in 1992 on the basis of the Narva Choral School and has since represented the city and Estonia at important national and international competitions, festivals, and concerts. The choir has performed in many European countries, including Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

The ensemble is a laureate of numerous competitions and festivals. The boys’ choir is a regular participant in song festivals and has long held a high first-category ranking. Together with Estonia’s leading choirs, it participates in various concert and theatre projects as well as charity events. Artistic director and conductor: Svetlana Gorjušina.

Oonurme Mixed Choir

Oonurme Mixed Choir is the home village choir of Song Festival artistic director Ants Üleoja, founded under his initiative in 1995. The choir is currently conducted by Elo Üleoja. Its repertoire consists of classical choral music, mainly works by Estonian composers.

In 1997, composer Veljo Tormis arranged the Tudulinna folk tune “Kuked-kanad” for the choir. Over three decades, the choir has performed across Estonia, including on the stages of Estonia Concert Hall, Vanemuine, Jõhvi, and Pärnu concert halls, and has participated in local and national song days as well as joint concerts organised by the Estonian Mixed Choirs Association.

International tours have taken the choir to Gotland, Northern Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Italy. Larger musical projects have included “Advendivalgus” (2003) and “Kolmekuninga muusika” (2007–2009). In August 2015, the choir participated in the ETV summer programme “Suvenaabrid”. Between 1997 and 2010, seven Oonurme Song Days were organised, with participation reaching 22 choirs and 550 performers in 2007. The choir has achieved strong results in national competitions and was named Choir of the Year 2015 by the Estonian Choral Association.
